1:1 Somatic Work

Reclaim Your Agency, One Session At a Time

1:1 Work - Where You Don't Have to Override Yourself To Be Here

Personalised, body-based sessions for those who want to reconnect with themselves — at their own pace, without having to perform being okay.

About This Work

Sometimes this most important thing is being met exactly where you are.

In our 1:1 sessions, we work at the pace of your nervous system — not the pace of a fixed programme or someone else's timeline.

This is space where you don't have to manage how you come across. Where the full complexity of your experience — the grief, the anger, the numbness, the confusion — is welcome.

We begin with an assessment — not to catalogue your history, but to build a shared understanding of where you are. How disconnection shows up for you. What you want from this work. What your body already knows about its own edges and triggers.

This matters more than it might sound. Take the breath, for example. Many people who have experienced chronic stress or relational trauma find connecting to the breath genuinely difficult — not because something is wrong with them, but because the body remembers. If you needed to hold your breath to stay hidden, or to breathe fast in order to run, your nervous system stored that. It's still holding it. Before we work with the breath, we need to know that about you.

From there, each session begins with a check-in — what's present today, what your body is telling you, where you are in yourself right now. I build a somatic practice from there, responsive to what's actually happening rather than following a fixed script. We close each session by reflecting on what felt useful, what felt expansive, and what we're learning together about your nervous system's particular language.

This work is relational, trauma-informed, and grounded in the belief that change happens in connection — not in isolation.

What We Work With

Areas We Commonly Explore:

  • The collapse response and nervous system dysregulation

  • Reclaiming a felt sense of agency and trust in your own body

  • Moral injury — the impact of working within systems that cause harm

  • Vicarious trauma and secondary traumatic stress

  • Setting sustainable limits rooted in your body, not just your willpower

  • Disconnection from meaning, motivation, or professional identity

  • Reconnecting with the self that existed before the work took over

How It Works

  • We begin with a free 30-minute consultation — no commitment, just a conversation about where you are and whether this feels like a good fit

  • Sessions are 60 minutes, held online

  • We work on a weekly or fortnightly basis toward agreed goals, across a fixed number of sessions with regular review points built in

  • My approach draws on polyvagal theory, TC-TSY (Trauma Centre Trauma Sensitive Yoga), and person-centred values

  • I am a BACP registered counsellor, trained at the Center for Trauma and Embodiment, and a 500-hour experienced yoga teacher registered with Yoga Alliance

Investment

Session Rate Individual sessions: £100 per session

A small number of reduced-rate places are available for those working in the public or third sector — please enquire.

A note on starting points: If you're at the beginning of this journey, the Calling Your Power Back 8-week programme may be a natural first step — offering structured nervous system education, somatic practice, and community at a lower investment. Many people find group work opens something up that they then want to explore more deeply in 1:1 sessions.

Is This Right For You?

1:1 work might be right for you if:

  • You want more individual attention than a group programme can offer

  • You're navigating specific experiences — vicarious trauma, moral injury, a significant transition — that need dedicated space

  • You want to explore somatic work before joining a group setting

  • You're ready to go deeper

Not sure? That's okay.

The free consultation is exactly for this. We'll talk about where you are, what you're hoping for, and whether working together feels like a good fit. If it's not the right match, I'll do my best to point you in a direction that is.
